Magic Light
What moves me, what makes me get out of bed when most people are still sleeping or makes me stay up at night in a given location is the light. I can say I’m obsessed with it! And of course the interaction with the landscape and how it can transform something ordinary into something magical!
The picture I am sharing today with is a good example. Blue skies, no clouds marked the day that once again I went down to the Guncho Velho in Sintra for another photo session! However the way the light passed between these rock formations and lit the rocks and the sea in the foreground let me ecstatic to be there at that time! It only took a few seconds of exposure to look at the camera screen and realize that I had achieved everything I needed! The only thing left for me to do was to pack the material and go back up the hill! Mission accomplished.

Como fotógrafo o que me move, o que me faz levantar da cama a horas em que a maioria ainda dorme ou que me faz ficar até de noite num determinado local é a luz. Creio até poder dizer que sou obcecado por ela! E claro a sua interacção com a paisagem e maneira como pode transformar algo banal em algo mágico!
A foto que hoje partilho convosco representa bem o que disse. Céus azuis, sem nuvens marcaram este dia em que mais uma vez desci ao Guincho Velho em Sintra para mais uma sessão de fotografia! No entanto a maneira como a luz passava entre estas formações rochosas e iluminava as rochas e o mar em primeiro plano deixo-me extasiado por estar ali naquele momento! Bastou alguns segundos de exposição para olhar para o ecrã da máquina e perceber que tinha conseguido o que procurava! Restava-me arrumar o material e voltar a subir a encosta! Missão cumprida.
